How does alimony affect the calculation of child support in Florida?

The recipient spouse's alimony is considered income for child support purposes. The payor spouse's income is reduced by the amount of alimony that he or she pays. In calculating the child support, the new income amounts, the inclusion of alimony, and the deduction of alimony for the payor, then, are used to calculate the child support amount and child support percentages for each parent.
