Can I change the locks to the house before or during the divorce proceedings?

The changing of the locks has to do with whether or not one party has the exclusive right to possess the home during the pendency of the divorce or prior to the divorce. If your soon to be former spouse has moved out of the house and established residency elsewhere, I would say you have the right to change the locks. You have the right to live in peace and quiet. After all, I'm sure your spouse didn't give you a key to his or her new residence.
