What can I expect at an initial interview with an attorney?↵
At the initial interview with your family law practitioner, you can expect to be explained Florida law as it relates to the particular facts of your case. You should have a list of your assets and estimated values. You should have a list of your debts and estimated values. The attorney should be able to give you a determination of whether or not you are a candidate for receiving or paying alimony and what your parental rights would be or should be in the event that you have children. Bring tax returns, financial documents or any other information that you believe will assist your attorney in making a complete assessment of your case. You should, also, at the initial consultation, know what financial responsibilities you will have to your attorney. How much the retainer is, what the hourly billable rate is, et cetera.
