If I seek counseling during a divorce, can that be used against me?
Often times, people seek counseling during a divorce because the divorce process is so stressful. We often encourage our clients to seek counseling. In Florida, there is a protection against revealing what happens in therapeutic sessions. There is actually a privilege that would prevent the other spouse from obtaining that information. Therefore, what you discuss with your therapist is generally not discoverable unless you tell your therapist that you're about to commit a crime.
