Are there special issues if a gay or lesbian parent is seeking custody or visitation rights?

There are no special issues where a gay or lesbian parent is seeking time sharing or custodial rights. The standard applied in Florida is always best interest. As long as the parents have their children's best interest at heart; as long as their actions are in the best interest of the minor children, parents should not have a problem, irrespective of the sexual preferences, in obtaining custodial and their time sharing rights.
